I don’t care what our parents say, college is extremely hard. We’re all expected to get a 4.0, be involved in clubs and community service, have fun, exercise, get eight hours of sleep, and eat healthily. Seriously?

Throughout my freshman year, the eating healthy part was the hardest. Every single “healthy” dish I attempted to create at the dining hall always left me unsatisfied, and on a college-student budget, a trip to Sweetgreen for every meal would not make my wallet happy. And cooking just took too long—who has time to cut up an onion?

Luckily, I found a company that could cure my health woes—Hungryroot, a food delivery service that specializes in spiralized noodles (pretty fancy if I do say so myself).

I did my own taste test of Hungryroot’s products, and I honestly have to say they were the bomb.com. I’ve always attempted to create noodles out of veggies and make desserts healthier, but for some reason I can never get them right. These pre-made meals just make it so much easier, which is just what I need when I have two papers due and a midterm to study for.

According to my taste test, here’s what you should try from Hungryroot:

Celery Root Noodles with Sweet Basil Gremolata

Now, let me start off by saying that this is not real Italian spaghetti, but this guy did cut my craving for tomato-y, basil-y spaghetti, plus I didn’t feel like I’d gained 5,000 pounds after finishing it. Don’t let the name fool you, this dish isn’t sweet at all, and the noodles don’t taste like celery. The noodles don’t really have a taste at all in fact—it’s the tomato and basil sauce that packs the flavor.

Carrot Noodles with Tangy Sriracha Peanut Sauce

All I have to say is YES. I love peanut noodles so much, I sometimes eat them for breakfast (no joke). And no matter how hard I try, I can never get the sauce right. But this sauce? Amazing, really. The only comment I have on the noodles is that I wish the carrots were thick-cut, to mimic more of an udon-noodle texture, but I’d still eat these regardless.

Cauliflower Couscous with Moroccan Almond Curry

Not the most visually appealing of them all, but hey, cauliflower can only look so pretty. This one by far was the most flavorful—the spices packed a punch, but it was nicely balanced with the sweetness from the golden raisins. It was a small portion though, so I suggest having it a side dish with this chicken.

Coconut Carrot Cake Bites with Coconut Frosting

Yeah, the carrot cake bites are good, but I ate that entire jar of coconut frosting that came with it. The cake bites resemble the taste and texture of energy balls, so they would make great mid-day snacks or a good healthy dessert. But the coconut frosting? No way something that creamy and sweet was healthy.

Almond Chickpea Cookie Dough

Disclaimer: do not go into this jar of cookie dough with the idea that it tastes like Nestle Tollhouse. Go into it with the idea that it is healthy and made from chickpeas, and you will be pleasantly surprised (because it doesn’t taste like chickpeas!). You can bake it into cookies, but I highly suggest eating it raw. It’s also vegan, if you’re into that thing.

Black Bean Brownie Batter

If you’re a dark chocolate lover, this baby is for you. It’s amazing. It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of. And best of all, it doesn’t taste like black beans, because I was really really afraid to try this thinking I would be biting into something that should be on my taco, not as my dessert. I suggest baking these into little brownie bites—they stay really moist and gooey.
